Bitumen

Immediately drench the affected area with cold water until the bitumen is cooled.

Leave bitumen intact unless it is compromising airway or circulation and contact appropriate Burns Service.

After cooling the solidified bitumen can be removed slowly by dissolving with a solvent such as petroleum jelly or liquid paraffin.
